While many people invest in real estate for the ability to make money on renting out the property, one of the best ways to make a large sum of money in a short timeframe is through property appreciation. Most investors will combine the two approaches since a rental property will also normally appreciate in value alongside inflation. This will allow the investor to either sell the property for increased profit earlier, take out an equity line of credit to place money in alternative investments, and is one of the historically proven and more popular methods for investing in real estate.
