What the Right believe: Foreign made products are inferior, buying foreign made products hurts the US economy.
The Truth is: This is the Right wing version of the Buy Local misconception. Even American made products often contain materials or components that were made in other countries. The world economy is interconnected, and that’s a good thing. American industry doesn’t need to make everything. Often foreign companies produce things are a cheaper cost. Just imagine how much your iPhone would cost if union workers were building it. Probably so much that no one would buy them. Some foreign companies even manufacture here in the US. Subaru of America is based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and their manufacturing plant in Indiana employs Americans to build all the cars sold here in America.
