4. Setup Bank Accounts before Moving

If possible, soon-to-be expats should setup bank accounts before making the big move in the destination country. One may need to have an address and local phone number to do so, so some preparation and research needs to be completed before assuming that a new account can just be created quickly online. By going ahead and having the accounts setup, it makes it easier to pay deposits on rental flats or homes, and get bills setup before fully moving in to the country. If it does prove too difficult to setup the accounts, then making this a top priority shortly after arrival in the country will help safe some frustration (and precious time).
