Then there is the case of Laurence E. Hill, who was a teacher in Seattle for more than thirty years. Mr. Hill plead guilty to one count of second degree molestation, one count of first degree molestation, and two counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes. His victims were a ten year old and an eleven year old girl. According to charging documents, he was previously counseled by at least two administrators and one principal for inappropriately touching students. He was sentenced to five years to life in prison and the Seattle School District paid out $3,000,000 to his victims. Mr. Hill has collected more than $200,000 from a state taxpayer funded teacher pension plan.
