10 Political Terms We Should Stop Using Immediately
7. Tax Reform
Reform always seems popular, so people who are in favor of simplifying the US’s gigantic, complex, and onerous tax system often use this term. The problem is it is vague and leaves too many possibilities in the minds of many. Lots of people fear that any tax reform will leave them paying higher taxes. Tax simplification, on the other hand, is more direct to the point and something most Americans would support. Most Americans don’t understand the tax system to begin with, so offering to simplify it is an easy sell. Pushing for reforms may have many leery while holding on tight to their wallets. Again, this term is more honest and cuts through rhetoric to the point.
