Licenses – Occupational licensing, while necessary in many fields, is often a way in which governments limit competition and suck money out of any would-be entrepreneurs. The fact is many states have onerous, unreasonable licensing requirements for professions that may make you scratch your head. These barriers into these fields do more to hinder the economy and Americans’ choices than they do to protect consumers.
