2. Its effects are racially unfair

Guess which group has the highest unemployment numbers in the United States? If you guessed young black men, you are correct. Minimum wage laws drive up the cost of employment and reduce the number of available jobs. When the number of jobs goes down, you are denying people (usually young people of color) the opportunity to improve their own circumstances through their own time and effort. This drives dependency on government largesse and gives a veritable “Riot Switch” to “The Man”. I do try to think the best of people but i also know that they WILL do almost anything to avoid starving to death. “A government big enough to give you all you need, is big enough to take it all away.”
