6. It may cost jobs, and it definitely doesn’t create any

It’s economics; it’s not rocket science, but it’s not Legos in a blanket fort either. There are a myriad of  opinions and I sought them out for this piece, to challenge what I think I think. Numerous pieces spoke of how the data does not really show a decrease in the number of jobs,  or that the decrease was negligible. But the economy is too massive and complex for one aspect to outweigh all production and growth. None of them denied an increase in prices to the consumer or cited noticeable increase in employment, just that there was a slight decrease or that numbers stayed fairly static. The point of minimum wage increases is to give the economy a boost. But even if those who experience a slight wage increase enjoy moderate benefit, when job growth stalls it hurts those who are unemployed.
