9. It’s a ridiculous wedge issue
As with a slew of other, mostly manufactured, issues (gay marriage, equal pay, abortion, global weather “weirding”, hands up! I can’t breathe!), the federal government has decided we need more things to disagree with each other over. Let’s all get upset over how much money a kid gets paid making pizzas or about how much Grampa Joe doesn’t get while greeting people at “evil” WalMart. It’s stupid. Normal people know there is suffering in the world and they hate it. Thinking people realize that a bureaucratically mandated wage will do little, if anything, to stop it. Instead it will give government more control over our lives and further reward corporate cronies. Is there anything left in day to day life that we aren’t going to politicize?
