8. They unfairly benefit unions
Unions LOVE minimum wage increases. This is how they justify demands for higher wages for their members. Many public sector unions (which should not exist anyway) have agreements that call for automatic increases should the minimum wage rise. Even if a particular Union has no such agreement, what is the last Union job you ever heard of that pays the minimum wage? Yeah, me too. It seems a good rule of thumb that regulation usually benefits cronies and unions…but that might be redundant. Minimum wage policy is no different.
