6. It Will Increase the Competitiveness of the North American Economy

We need to adapt to the changing global economic landscape. As Asia becomes the global economic center, while China asserts itself through a series of trade pacts and infrastructure investment banks, challenging the western-dominated IMF and the World Bank, and as Russia pushes for the Eurasian Union in its near abroad, we need to reconsider our strategy and think of creative ways to keep North America on the cutting edge of the global economy.

One of the ways to stay competitive is to create a common North American currency, and to merge our economies. Countries are like modern businesses, and must constantly recalibrate their economic and political models. Unless winners adapt, they eventually lose out, in economic and political life as in nature. Today’s America or Canada could become tomorrow’s Portugal or Greece. In the competitive and interconnected world of the 21st century, standing still is losing ground.
