8. Time Savers

Time is money, don’t sell yourself short. The old adage “penny wise and pound foolish” applies to many people who mean well in their efforts to be frugal but who end up losing money because of their lack of perspective. One example would be a salesman who spends five dollars a day on a method of commute that takes him two hours instead of spending ten dollars a day on transportation that is twice as fast. He thinks in terms of the ten dollars that he saves on a round trip every day rather than the two hours of phone calls that he loses every day. While saving is good, investing in things that free up time and energy that you could put to better use can make you much wealthier.
