6. Eliminate the Department of Education

Eliminate an entire department, you ask? Yes. Absolutely. The funny thing about the Department of Education is despite trillions in federal dollars poured into it, the Department has failed to achieve even a slight increase in student performances since it was created in the 1970’s. 40 years and unfathomable amounts of money have had no effect on the performance of US students and have added complex bureaucracies and placed cumbersome requirements on administrators and educators alike. Since no evidence can offered to show even a modest accomplishment of the Department of Education, it should be eliminated and education handled by the states, who do must of the work as it is.
