10 Lessons Employees Can Learn From Entrepreneurs
6. So focus on what matters
The Pareto Principle illustrates that 80% of a person’s results come from 20% of their activities. The problem for so many people is that they spend most of their time on activities that simply don’t matter. Most employees should be able to see what it is about their daily activities that make them valuable enough to their employers to justify their salaries. Employees who don’t know should sit down with their bosses and have a frank conversation about which of their tasks are most important and focus the overwhelming majority of their time and energy on those tasks. For most entrepreneurs, sales and delivery of goods and services are most important. Employees should know where they fit and ensure that the priorities that matter most to their employers are those that get done first and get done best.
