5. The quality of healthcare will plummet

Government insurance comes with strings attached for patients and doctors — and the incentives are all wrong. Already, Medicare rewards doctors for the volume of care provided, not for outcomes. If you get well, the doctor sees you less and his income decreases. This government model gives incentive to cram more patients and appointments into every day because quantity, not quality, is what counts. Socialized medicine means that your doctor’s office or hospital will become more and more like a crowded DMV office.

The hospitals will look like barracks or run-down dormitories, with not enough nurses and doctors to go around, and with patients lying in the overcrowded rooms and the corridors, neglected for hours and even days on end. The treatment will consist of the cheapest options and outdated procedures, in order to save the cost.
