The best way to ensure kids don’t use drugs is to legalize them. To many who haven’t studied the issue, this seems counter intuitive. Obviously though, if criminalization succeeded at those ends, we would have eradicated drug use by now. Today kids have a harder time getting alcohol than drugs, the primary reason being drug dealers don’t card. If kids want to drink, they need to find an adult to buy it for them. While this isn’t impossible, it is more difficult and puts an actual adult on the hook if they are caught.
If you want to ensure that children aren’t smoking marijuana, it needs to be regulated like alcohol. As of right now, pot can be purchased in almost any high school in America.
