8. It Will Help to Develop the Northern Part of Canada

Canada has vast natural resources, but most of them are concentrated in the remote Arctic region. Canada’s Arctic makes up over 40% of the country’s landmass and is home to more than 100,000 people. Neighboring Alaska, with a much smaller area, has a population almost ten times bigger than that of Arctic Canada.

The North is full of crude oil, natural gas, timber, fresh water, iron, copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver, limestone, diamonds, and uranium. Canada’s North has an abundance of natural resources, but until now these resources have been largely untouched. Canada lacks the necessary technology and manpower to develop its Arctic region. American resources and expertise in oil and gas, mining, and forestry industries can greatly contribute to the growth of the economy of North America by moving northward. This will bring much needed jobs to people in the the US and Canada, and will result in a great improvement of infrastructure and living standards of the indigenous peoples of the Arctic region.
